Kundli guide

The eighth house in Kundli

The eighth house, or Randhra bhava, concerns longevity, adversity, inheritance and circumstances that can interrupt an established course of life. These are demanding traditional subjects, so a house label needs especially careful interpretation.

Inheritance and continuity

Inheritance concerns resources received through another person's estate. It differs from the second house's accumulated resources and the eleventh house's gains. The topic can belong in a reading without implying that an inheritance is due or that someone's death can be dated.

References to longevity likewise describe the traditional field of inquiry. A planet in the eighth does not give a reliable lifespan, accident prediction or medical assessment.

A difficult house is not the whole chart

The eighth belongs to the dusthana group. A strong occupant, a difficult house topic and a favourable condition elsewhere can coexist. Strength describes a planet under a particular measure; it does not remove the house's subject or settle its outcome.

For Cancer lagna, Aquarius is the eighth whole-sign house and Saturn rules it. Saturn also rules the seventh in that chart, linking two sets of house responsibilities. That ownership alone does not predict harm in a relationship.

The yoga directory explains the separate conditions for Vipreeta Raja combinations involving difficult-house lords.
