Sun in Chitra
The Sun in Chitra is associated with seeking a recognised role through design or other creative work. Modern readings also caution that pride can complicate relationships around that work or in close life.
An illustration is caring deeply about a design but receiving a suggested change as a personal slight. The theme does not establish craftsmanship, fame or an inevitable conflict.
Sun and Chitra
The Sun represents the self and the capacity to act with purpose in traditional Vedic readings. Authority, courage and recognition belong to its scope. Taking responsibility and being willing to stand behind a decision are ordinary ways to understand these themes.
Chitra (चित्रा) is associated with giving things a distinct form. Its craftsman deity, Tvashtri, and its traditional links with ornament, painting and weaving connect it with design and skilled construction. Appearance and the work required to produce it are both part of the theme. Another Vedic ritual enumeration associates Chitra with Indra. The Tvashtri and Indra assignments are distinct textual associations; neither supplies a separate prediction about a person.
Position, padas and lord
Chitra’s sidereal span is 23°20′ Virgo to 6°40′ Libra. Its four padas each cover 3°20′. The first two padas are in Virgo; the remaining two padas are in Libra. Its Vimshottari lord is Mars. Nakshatra lord, presiding deity and sign ruler are separate roles.
The sign context depends on the actual position: compare Sun in Virgo and Sun in Libra. A reading limited to one sign must stay within that portion of the nakshatra.
The starting boundary is included; the ending boundary belongs to the next nakshatra. The exact degree also identifies the pada. See nakshatra and pada in Kundli for the distinction between the nakshatra lord, sign ruler and house lord.
Reading the whole chart
This guide concerns natal sidereal D1, with whole-sign houses counted from lagna.
These are modern Vedic interpretations of the natal Sun. They do not establish a classical consensus or an individual result.
The Sun’s actual sign, house, aspects and conjunctions, together with the condition of the nakshatra lord, qualify the fuller interpretation.
Use the Sun reference for the graha’s wider meanings and chart conditions. The placement directory brings together its house, sign and nakshatra guides.
See the actual position, pada and house on the Kundli page.
