Rahu in Punarvasu

Modern readings of Rahu in Punarvasu associate care with approaches that differ from familiar practice. The subject is how help is offered, including an interest in alternative healing.

This is a traditional interpretive association. It does not validate a method, establish a qualification or promise recovery, and it cannot determine which treatment someone should receive.

Rahu and Punarvasu

Rahu is commonly interpreted through strong desire: wanting an experience, achievement or recognition that feels especially compelling. Ambition and a willingness to enter unfamiliar situations can be constructive expressions. Dissatisfaction can persist when reaching one goal only creates a need for the next.

Punarvasu (पुनर्वसु) is associated with return and replenishment. Its deity is Aditi, whose protective and sustaining role accompanies the repeated theme of renewal. The emphasis is on recovering room to continue after something has been depleted or interrupted.

Position, padas and lord

Punarvasu’s sidereal span is 20°00′ Gemini to 3°20′ Cancer. Its four padas each cover 3°20′. The first three padas are in Gemini; the remaining pada is in Cancer. Its Vimshottari lord is Jupiter. Nakshatra lord, presiding deity and sign ruler are separate roles.

The sign context depends on the actual position: compare Rahu in Gemini and Rahu in Cancer. A reading limited to one sign must stay within that portion of the nakshatra.

The starting boundary is included; the ending boundary belongs to the next nakshatra. The exact degree also identifies the pada. See nakshatra and pada in Kundli for the distinction between the nakshatra lord, sign ruler and house lord.

Reading the whole chart

This guide concerns natal sidereal D1, with whole-sign houses counted from lagna.

These are modern Vedic interpretations of natal Rahu. They do not establish a classical consensus or an individual result.

Rahu’s actual sign, house, aspects and conjunctions, together with the condition of the nakshatra lord, qualify the fuller interpretation.

Use the Rahu reference for the graha’s wider meanings and chart conditions. The placement directory brings together its house, sign and nakshatra guides.

See the actual position, pada and house on the Kundli page.
