Dignity describes a graha's relationship to its occupied sign and, in some cases, its degree. It is one part of a traditional reading. It is not a total strength score or a prediction of a favourable life event.

The deepest exaltation points are Sun 10° Aries, Moon 3° Taurus, Mars 28° Capricorn, Mercury 15° Virgo, Jupiter 5° Cancer, Venus 27° Pisces and Saturn 20° Libra. A broad sign label is different from closeness to that exact degree.
Moolatrikona ranges in this display
Traditions differ over degree ranges, particularly for the Moon, Mercury and Venus. The selected labels here use the following ranges; each includes its starting degree and ends just before its final degree.

Another convention can label the latter differently. The table describes this display, not a universal range accepted by every school.
Scope and cancellations
Rahu and Ketu return Neutral because the tool does not assign their disputed dignities. Outer-planet dignity is left blank. Unknown, if encountered, is an unavailable value, not a sixth traditional state.
The Positions column concerns the natal D1 placement. Arrows in a divisional diagram concern that division's sign. Neecha Bhanga reports particular cancellation reasons separately; it does not rewrite the original debilitation label.
