Holi 2026 - date and Panchang
Holi 2026 (Rangwali Holi / Dhulandi) falls on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Holika Dahan, the ritual bonfire that precedes it, is observed the night before on Tuesday, 3 March.
Holi marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. It is observed on the day after Phalguna Purnima (the full Moon of the lunar month of Phalguna).
The two-day sequence
| Date | Day | Observance |
|---|---|---|
| 3 Mar 2026 | Tuesday | Holika Dahan (bonfire), evening |
| 4 Mar 2026 | Wednesday | Rangwali Holi (the colour festival) |
The dates above are the North Indian observance dates listed here. They should not be read as the complete Purnima interval: in Delhi, Purnima ends before sunset on 3 March. A Holika Dahan programme therefore needs the local tradition's timing rule, including its treatment of Bhadra and any eclipse restrictions, rather than an assumption that Purnima lasts through that evening.
Panchang for the day

For Holika Dahan night, move any of these pages back a day to 3 March.
A note on regional variations
- North Indian and most Indian publishers observe Holi on 4 March 2026, after Phalguna Purnima.
- Regional celebrations can extend over several dates. Events such as Lathmar Holi have their own local schedules and should not be assumed to fall on the date above.
- Outside India, time zones and the community's observance rules can change the programme date. Check the local Panchang and the organiser's schedule together.
