Ekadashi dates 2026

Ekadashi is the 11th tithi of each fortnight - two Ekadashis fall in each lunar month, one in the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) and one in the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha). Many Hindus observe a fast on Ekadashi.

2026 includes an Adhik Maas (intercalary month), so the year carries two extra Ekadashis beyond the usual 24 - Padmini Ekadashi and Parama Ekadashi. The full list below has all 24.

Why two extra in 2026

A lunar year is about 11 days shorter than a solar year. To keep the lunar calendar aligned with the seasons, an extra lunar month is inserted roughly every 32-33 months - the Adhik Maas. Each lunar month has two Ekadashis, so an Adhik Maas year has 26 Ekadashis. In 2026, the Adhik Maas falls in mid-year; Padmini Ekadashi (27 May) and Parama Ekadashi (11 June) are the two Ekadashis belonging to that extra month.

How panchang.now uses these dates

Each Ekadashi above falls on a specific tithi at sunrise. For the day's full Panchang in your city, pick a city on the home page and use the date picker, or jump straight to a date like 9 August 2026 in Delhi.

When dates may differ

The dates above are computed for New Delhi sunrise, following the North Indian convention. Two cases where your Ekadashi may differ:

  • Far-east or far-west cities. If the Ekadashi tithi transitions near sunrise, a city more than a few hours away from Delhi can land on a different calendar date.
  • ISKCON / Vaishnava Suddha Ekadashi. ISKCON observes Ekadashi only when the tithi is unbroken at sunrise and across the previous night. This can shift the date by one day relative to the dates above. For ISKCON dates, check the ISKCON GCal or your community's calendar.
